Paula Pearce has sadly had to let her Wire Fox Terrier go over the Rainbow Bridge. Even though Sophie is not a Welsh Terrier, she was still a member of our gang. Paula has often helped out at Discover Dogs and regularly sends free Wetland Tickets for our raffle.

Paula writes:

Sophie was a rescue dog taken in because she and her sister were fighting. She was feisty and adorable. May 2004 to September 2015

We miss her terribly but she had been ailing for several months and it was the kindest thing to do for her even though it hurts like hell.

Teddy is very quiet and keeps looking for her. He has lost his appetite and has to be coaxed into eating but he’ll be ok. My husband is retired now so spends his time out in the garden with Ted overseeing.

I hope to put feelers out for another female wire in a month or two – a wire who needs a home and is cat and dog friendly! So if you hear of anything, please let me know.

I am so used to having two dogs in the house with us and poor Ted has never been alone before, he came as a puppy and Sophie looked after him and showed him who was boss!

Great big hugs for Paula, hubby and WT Teddy. All you Wire Fox people, please get in touch with me if you think you could help Paula in the future. Paula had originally asked me to put this in the next newsletter, but the beauty of the Blog is that it's instant. You get the news as it happens!
